Single row tapered roller bearings are optimally designed to deal with operations needing combined loads. This means that the radial and axial loads can be managed together. The design merges the projection lines of the raceways to arrive at the bearing axis. This helps ensure a true rolling action with low friction.

These tapered roller bearing variants are similar in form and feature to other tapered bearings. However, the distinct features of a Single Row Tapered Bearing, the distinct features are:

  • The axial load carrying capacity of the bearings increases with increasing contact angle. The size of the contact angle varies between 10° and 30°.
  • The design ensures proper weight management of both axial and radial loads which leads to reduced friction and temperature peaks.
  • Like other bearings in this class, this also comes in an assembly mode for optimum mounting and unmounting.
    Self-lubricating property helps reduce heating and friction to a great extent.

  • Low friction design: The design for the tapered roller and surface finish on flange helps promote lubricant formation which lowers the frictional heat and wear & tear of the flange. The after effect of this is reduction of noise and optimum preload levels.
  • Long service life: The crowned raceways and optimised raceway profiles ensure balanced load distribution on the surface end, and reduced stress peaks at the roller end. This in turn reduces the sensitivity to misalignment and shaft deflection.
  • Enhanced reliability of output: The surface finish at the contact areas of the rollers triggers formation of hydrodynamic lubricant film which ensures smooth mobility.
  • Rigid bearing application: This bearing can be adjusted against a second tapered roller bearing with an applicable preload to achieve a rigid bearing application.
  • Separable and interchangeable: The inner roller and cage assembly can be separately mounted. While the outer cup is also a separable component, therefore these components are fully interchangeable. This is especially helpful for hassle-free maintenance and inspection routines.
