Double Row Tapered Roller Bearings: What are These?

Just like other tapered roller bearings, these bearings can accommodate heavy radial loads. They can also carry axial loads, therefore making the operation have a high degree of stiffness ideal for gearboxes, hoisting equipment, rolling mills and tunnelling machines used in the mining industry. 

Double Row Tapered Roller Bearings: What are its Features?

This type of tapered roller bearings are similar in form and feature as is applicable to all bearings in this category. However there are some distinct properties that differentiate it from the rest. When double row tapered bearings are matched face-to-face, 

  • An intermediate spacer is positioned between two cups.
  • The load lines converge towards the bearing axis.
  • Axial loads acting in both directions can be accommodated by each bearing.  
  • These are preset assemblies ready to mount and easy to dismount. 

This also uses back to back arrangement which gives the following features

  • An intermediate spacer is positioned both between the two cones
  • The load lines diverge towards the bearing axis, thus providing relatively rigid bearing arrangements, which can also take up tilting moments. 
  • Axial loads acting in both directions can be accommodated by each bearing

  • Amps up performance, reduces friction as well as increases power density simultaneously in applications.
  • Contact surfaces are optimised for a hardened surface finish to support the formation of a hydrodynamic lubricant film coating.
  • The design ensures optimal load distribution, minimized noise and vibration, while enabling preload to be accurate.
  • Manages axial loads in both directions with specific axial clearance or preload.
  • Perfect for heavy machineries on factory floors
  • Low maintenance while ensuring longevity.
