Machine Ring Needle Roller Bearings

What are Machine Ring Needle Roller Bearings?

These are another unique type of needle bearings. Needle bearings have a small radial section height and smaller mass which allows for a compact design. These bearings are ideally suited for less impact low inertia applications as they adjust with the housing of the bearings.

Machined ring type needle roller bearing comprises an outer ring made by machining, needle rollers and cage to guide the rollers. The outer ring has high rigidity and is easy to install. These bearings are suitable for heavy loads where high bearings accuracy is required.

Features of Machine Ring Needle Roller Bearings

Machine-Ring needle roller bearings have similar functionality as applicable to a needle roller bearing. But it does have some distinct features, such as:

  • The outer ring of the bearing and the needle rollers are fortified together with a double sided rib on the side plates or outer ring.
  • Since the ring is machined, the outer ring is solid and rigid.
  • There are a lot of small diameter rollers which help bear a bigger load.
  • Strength of the outer ring ensures an upgraded bearing accuracy.
  • Ideally suited for applications which demand high speed, load and running accuracy.

Advantages of Machine Ring Needle Roller Bearings

The advantages and applications of these types of bearings vary according to the design of the bearing. Machine ring needle roller bearings are of two types – without inner ring and with inner ring. The without inner ring variant uses a shaft for a direct raceway surface. This means that the bearings are flexible in terms of assembly.

  • These bearings offer a compact solution for applications where there is minimal space.
  • Unlike other needle roller bearings this variant has a high load carrying capacity despite their height.
  • The two rings can be assembled separately, this means it can be flexible to the housing requirements of the bearings as well as low maintenance.
  • Due to multiple small-diameter rollers, machined rings are stiff and therefore stable.
  • This variant can accommodate axial displacement due to shaft raceways.
