NEI’s hiring process is very robust and transparent to ensure that we select the right match for the right job which meets expectations and qualifications of the prospective employees.
The Selection Process
The selection process starts after publishing the new job post. What we look into a prospective employee is NEI values and NEI competencies apart from the technical skills. The applicants are invited to a short, preliminary interview. A more detailed interview is scheduled if the interviewed candidate is found to be the right match for the job.
Competency based interviewing by the interview panel help in selecting the candidates who exhibit the same behavioral competencies for the workplace.
During the interview process, candidates meet the hiring manager and maybe some of the employees from the concerned department.
On the basis of the interviews, we are usually able to make our decision. The final step in the hiring process will follow local rules and legislation, and might require references or a background check.
If we decide not to hire then the information is sent by e-mail or telephone. However, such applicants may be considered for any future vacancies that match their profile.
Life at NEI
NEI has a strong process of acclimatizing new hires to ensure that they feel welcomed and valued by the organization. Young talent hired from the premier institutes undergo 90 days of Onboarding program covering Classroom lecture, Action Learning Projects and Live shop floor experience.
To create strong bonding, NEI even invites new joinees’ families on the first day extended with an informal meeting with the senior leadership team. The trainees and the parents are formally welcomed by the CEO & leadership team over tea.
To promote camaraderie and to acclimatize every new joinee into the system, NEI believes in proper hand holding. Hence all new joinees are assigned with a Buddy who is a person from the same area of function. A buddy helps him/her at every stage of getting along to the company.
